| Description The Chatham County–Savannah 2040–2045 Comprehensive Plan Update is a five-year update to the Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2021. The Plan provides a long-term framework to guide land use, housing, economic development, transportation, natural resources, and future growth over the next 20 years. On June 25, 2026, City Council adopted a resolution authorizing transmittal of the draft Plan to the Coastal Regional Commission (CRC) and Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) for review. The Plan has completed the required regional and state review process in accordance with Georgia's Minimum Standards and Procedures for Local Comprehensive Planning. A resolution must be considered by City Council to formally approve the Comprehensive Plan Update to maintain the City's Qualified Local Government status and eligibility for certain state funding and permitting programs.
