This is to enter into a construction contract for the widening of the Bilbo Canal with SJ Hamill Construction, LLC in the amount not to exceed $5,872,540. The Bilbo Canal Improvements Phase 2 consists of the construction of 800 LF of Combi wall. Maintenance roads will be improved to provide better access to the site. Sheet piles will be driven to structurally reinforce the site during and after construction. The estimated duration of construction is 18 months. This project is to widen the existing Bilbo Canal to achieve a 100-year conveyance north to Normandy St.

City’s cost share is 4.5 million, the remaining balance will be paid by Riverview President Street, LLC up to 2 million per development agreement dated March 23, 2022.

There are currently funds available in the 2023 Budget Account - Bilbo Canal Improvements Phase 2.
