Description

This contract for the procurement of Casey Phase 2-C Drainage Improvements Deep Tunnel Design services from Black and Veatch in the amount of $2,488,225. This design will provide conveyance for the 100-year storm event and greatly minimize impacts, disruptions, and cost to construct the drainage improvements. Significant flooding currently occurs in Habersham Village and along Abercorn Street between Columbus and 67th Street of Mid-town Savannah.  A preliminary feasibility study was performed last year to determine the suitability of using a deep tunnel to convey the stormwater from this location to the Casey Canal. The feasibility study proved the deep tunnel was a recommended solution to this drainage improvement.

Black and Veatch has been the design firm for multiple deep tunnel projects in Charleston, SC. It was selected to perform the feasibility study and now final design of the tunnel system. This contract is being procured by using the Charleston, SC contract for the Concord Street Pump Station Upfit. Terms: Net 30 days. Delivery: As requested.
