Strategic Priority Infrastructure | |
Description Recommend approval to award a construction contract for City Hall third floor renovations to Landmark Preservation, LLC in the amount of $892,624.73. This contract will be used by the Office of Capital Projects Management for the renovations of the third floor in City Hall. These offices will be used by the City Attorneys and Aldermen. The work will include flooring replacement and restoration, window replacement, ceiling replacement, cabinet installation, and electrical, mechanical, and plumbing upgrades. This project originally included replacing framing around doors, painting of ductwork and conduit, ceiling clouds, and refinishing wood around doors, windows and floors, but has been value engineered to exclude these items in order to meet the project's budget. A request for statements of qualifications was issued and five contractors submitted responses. Of those, four contractors were deemed qualified to bid on the project. Two pre-qualified vendors submitted responses to this event. This event had a 20% DBE goal. The recommended bidder submitted DBE participation at the subcontractor level in the total amount of 5.5%, using two local DBE-certified subcontractors, Henry Plumbing and Master Craft Flooring.
