Description The petition of Sandesh Pardeshi, on behalf of Qingxiang Zhou (Property Owner), is for a Special Use Permit to allow a package store (Off-premises consumption) at 2110 Montgomery Street, Suite A (PIN 20065 24012). 2110 Montgomery Street is located between W. 38th and W. 37th streets in the Thomas Square Historic Neighborhood. The parcel is zoned TC-1 (Traditional Commercial-1) which was established to ensure the vibrancy of historic mixed-use neighborhoods with traditional development patterns characteristic of Savannah during the streetcar and early automobile eras. The district provides for commercial areas that are developed at a mass and scale harmoniously with nearby residential neighborhoods. A Special Use Permit is required in the TC-1 zoning district to allow for packaged alcohol sales. If the petitioner is approved for the Special Use Permit, they will also need to secure an alcohol beverage license which will also require City Council approval. | |
Recommendation On November 23, 2021, the Planning Commission recommended denial of the request for a Special Use Permit to allow packaged alcohol sales at 2110 Montgomery Street (PIN 20065 24012) based upon the criteria for a special use permit.
