Recommend approval of Contract Amendment No. 2 for design and construction administration services for the Tompkins Community Center addition project to Kern & Co.in the amount of $4,317.50.

The original contract was for the design, construction, and administration of the additions to the Tompkins Community Center, which included a new community center portion with a kitchen, multipurpose rooms, an exercise room, a game room, a computer room, lockers and showers, offices, storage, restrooms, and ancillary space among other upgrades. This contract amendment represents a summary change order for a now-completed project. These services were not in the original contract but were requested by the City, and involve additional geotechnical investigation of the building pad area and participation in a design open house. 

Council originally approved this contract on July 24, 2014 in the amount of $154,000.00. The total amount of this contract to date, including this amendment, is $166,817.50.
