Description

The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is to establish a framework for cooperation and collaboration between the City of Savannah and the Friends of Forsyth Conservancy (The Conservancy). This MOU is not intended to, and does not create, any binding contractual obligations on either party. The agreement defines the relationship between the City of Savannah and the Conservancy in order to ensure that the goals of each are accomplished in a mutually supportive way.

The Conservancy's purpose is to support and enhance Forsyth Park by raising and expending philanthropic capital and encouraging civic engagement in support of the 2022 Forsyth Master Plan. This agreement does not bind the City to the 2022 Forsyth Park Master Plan, as that plan is identifed as a guiding document with proposed improvements and projects for consideration by the City. The City reserves sole authority to make all final decisions regarding Forsyth Park, but agrees to exercise this authority in the spirit of good faith cooperation with the Conservancy as resources allow.

This agreement highlights that both parties shall be committed to promoting equitable access to Forsyth Park, cognizant of geographic, socioeconomic, demographic, cultural, and physical ability of all users of Forsyth Park.
