Recommend approval of Contract Modification No. 2 for up to $100,000 and the annual contract renewal (FY2021) for up to $211,400 for HVAC maintenance for City facilities with Edge Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

The original contracts is used by the Facilities Maintenance and Operations Division to maintain HVAC systems City-wide. This contract is used in emergency situations to repair or replace parts on HVAC units as well as chillers, ice machines, and commercial refrigerators. Edge Air Conditioning & Refrigeration also has specialized equipment that is needed to repair and program City buildings with automation.

This modification is needed to install bi-polar ionization, fresh air intakes, change pully sizes, and complete an air test and balance on the systems in all City buildings. These units have proven to kill 90% of COVID-19 virus within ninety minutes of running. This will also kill many other viruses and bacteria. Due to the pandemic, this is needed to keep City employees and visitors safe.

This contract was originally approved by Council on July 20, 2017 in the amount of $83,400. Contract Modification No. 1 was approved by Council on November 20, 2018 in the amount of $211,400. The total amount of the contract to date, including both modifications is $394,800.
