Description Recommend approval to execute a contract renewal for Lift Station parts and pumps with Xylem Water Solutions USA(D) for up to $800,000. The contract is for Flygt pumps and parts for the City’s Lift Stations, which include pumping, piping, mechanical, electrical, odor control, and failsafe systems. These systems must be continuously operated and maintained to prevent station failures that cause wastewater and sewage spills onto city properties, and sewer back-up into city homes and businesses. The City presently has 203 operating lift stations. The contract amount for 2020 was $550,000. The increase in the renewal is due to the anticipated parts and pump repairs that will be required to maintain the aging sanitary sewer lift stations trough next year. This is a Sole Source contract because Xylem Water Solutions USA is the only vendor that can provide the Flygt pumps and parts required for the City’s Lift Stations. | |
