Description The City of Savannah has received a “Statement of Grant Award” for the SNAP Works 2.0 Program from the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) in the amount of $262,211.67 for the period of October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019. This is the fourth and final allocation of a total grant award of $1,849,990.93, initially awarded January 7, 2016. The SNAP Works 2.0 program is part of a pilot project in which GDOL, Department of Family and Children Services, and the Coastal Workforce Development Board (CWDB) partners to deliver training services and assistance to able-bodied recipients with no dependents to enter into the workforce. The CWDB is responsible for overseeing the delivery of case management and training activities.
Pursuant to the WorkSource Coastal Consortium Agreement, the City of Savannah serves as the fiduciary agent for the 10-county region, and as such, City Council approval and authorization for the City Manager to receive grant funding and enter into grant administration agreements is necessary in accordance with the City of Savannah's procurement policies and procedures. | ||||||
