Description This is for a final project close-out modification for the Facilities at Interchange Court with TQ Constructors Inc. in the amount of $418,272.21. The original contract included the construction of new facilities to move staff from the existing City Lot and included the development of 37 acres, as well as the construction of 10 new buildings and the complete renovation of one existing warehouse. This contract modification is needed to cover costs associated with various credits, added costs due to unforeseen conditions, constructability items, clarification in plans, and owner-requested changes. Credit items include the reduced scope of work for the offsite water line install, various site work unit costs, the reduced scope of work for the offsite force main work, among others. Items associated with an increase in cost include unforeseen concrete debris removal from site, unforeseen replacement of rusted purlins in the existing warehouse, installation of a CO2 detection system in the Street Sweeper building, changing faucets and flush valves to touchless, mechanical and electrical owner requested revisions to the original plan, additional access control, addition of ice machines for operations, provision of stone around detention pond, and a sewer line conflict with foundational tie beams, among others. This contract was originally approved by Council on July 2, 2019, in the amount of $37,605,246.88. The contract amount was confirmed by the Council on August 1, 2019, in the amount of $37,855,246.88. Change order No. 1 (to cover the cost associated with unsuitable soils) was approved on February 27, 2020, in the amount of $876,913.00.
