Title 31. Authorize the City Manager to Execute a First Amendment to Lease Agreement for the use of office space located at 6600 Abercorn Street (The Landmark Building) (Real Estate Services)
Strategic Priority N/A
Description The City currently leases +/-16,582 square feet of office space at 6600 Abercorn Street, also known as the Landmark Building. This space currently serves to temporarily office Savannah Police Department (SPD) personnel during the extensive renovation of SPD headquarters. SPD will be relocated back to headquarters later this year, and the Landmark Building will be repurposed by relocating the Housing, Human Resources, and Management and Budget departments from 5515 Abercorn Street. The Abercorn Street facility will then be repurposed with SPD Traffic and Records Units. The existing Landmark Building lease commenced on April 1, 2023, and the base term is set to expire on March 31, 2026. The original agreement includes two (2) optional one-year renewal terms. The proposed amendment exercises these two renewal terms and adds one additional, two-year option renewal. The amendment adds +/-3,487 square feet of space (to accommodate the Chief of Community Services staff, Risk Management, the Office of Performance and Accountability and others) bringing the total leased area to +/-20,069 square feet. The landlord will paint the walls and clean or replace carpeting in the suite prior to lease commencement. Lease commencement will be January 1, 2026 and Landlord has agreed to apply the same rate structure that was agreed upon in the base lease.
