| Description The City of Savannah has received a “Statement of Grant Award” through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) for the National Dislocated Worker Employment Recovery Grant. This funding will assist WIOA-eligible dislocated workers to include those who have been impacted by a plant closure, laid off or job displacement with employment and training services needed to re-enter the workforce in high-demand careers. The grant period is from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028. The allocation is as follows:
Pursuant to the WorkSource Coastal Consortium Agreement, the City of Savannah serves as the fiduciary agent for the ten-county region and, as such, City Council approval and authorization for the City Manager to receive grant funding and enter into grant administration agreements is necessary in accordance with the City of Savannah's procurement policies and procedures. | ||||||
