34. Authorize the City Manager to Acquire Required Property Interests to Facilitate the Second Phase of Stiles Avenue Road Widening Project.

Description

The second phase of the Stiles Avenue widening project will extend from the Savannah Enmarket Arena north to Louisville Road. The widening will help reduce traffic congestion during arena events and improve the overall transportation system in the area. The project also includes relocating and improving utilities and adding a median, sidewalks, bike lane, landscaping, pavement markings, and new signage.

 

The City will need to acquire 0.2306 acres of additional right-of-way (ROW) to facilitate the project. The required ROW is owned by Emerson Matabele. Real Estate Services has procured title work and an appraisal. Mr. Matabele has agreed to grant the requisite property interest at the appraised value of $124,000. Additionally, authorization is requested for the City Manager to execute any associated closing documents.
