Title 16. Motion to Authorize the City Manager to Execute an Annual Contract with Clear Edge Filtration for Filter Belts in the Amount of $34,424 (Event No. 7332)
Strategic Priority Infrastructure
Description Recommend approval to authorize the City Manager to execute an annual contract with Clear Edge Filtration for filter belts in the amount of $34,424. This contract will be used by the Public Works and Water Resources Department for the separation of solids and liquids in the dewatering process of sludge. These filters are stretched along a belt press and travels through a series of rollers which compresses the sludge, and removes water that was not drained during the gravity draining zone. This allows each plant to transport “dried solids” versus liquid sludge to the landfill. This project was not identified as an SBE project because the requirement of three certified SBEs could not be met at the time this bid was released. The contract term shall be from October 24, 2019 through December 31, 2020.
