This is to procure Water, Sewer, and Stormwater Infrastructure Repair with Southern Champion Construction in the amount not to exceed $8,833,000.

The City’s Water Resources Department operates and maintains over 2,000 miles of water, sewer and storm mains and pipes as well as other utility infrastructure.  This contracted service offers specialized equipment and resources to supplement City staff and equipment resources to provide service to our utility customers.  Water Resources will utilize this contract to supplement City crews using the specialized equipment and expertise of the private contractor, enabling timely repairs and support during periods of heavy workload and emergencies. These services are used across multiple Water Resources departments for the timely repair of water, sewer, and stormwater lines, manholes, catch basins, and connected structures.

This contract also enables the City to prepare for and be responsive to the potential impacts of major weather events such as heavy rainfall, hurricanes, and/or tropical storms. This includes activities related to proactively performing infrastructure maintenance and improvements to reduce the risk of damage from severe weather events, ensure that on-call emergency response services are available to quickly address storm-related issues and flooding incidents, and minimize potential disruptions to utility services.

This contract will be funded through the following project accounts to cover anticipated expenses for stormwater repairs and related structures:
