An ordinance to amend the zoning map of the City of Savannah to establish zoning for 6.6 acres of land to be annexed into the City of Savannah. The zoning classification assigned to the parcel will be equivalent to the classification currently assigned by Chatham County, which is R-1. This is the second and final reading of this amendment; first reading was held during the meeting of September 28, 2017.

Lifebridge Church, LLC, located in unincorporated Chatham County on Montgomery Crossroad near Lake Mayer Park, petitioned to be annexed into the City. After annexation, the owner plans to develop a church building on the site. The land under petition is contiguous to existing City territory, and therefore can be annexed by ordinance adopted by City Council. As required by State law the County has been informed of receipt of this petition.

Annexation is being sought by the owner to gain access to the municipal utilities provided by the City. The owner desires to gain access to these services on in-city terms. The cost of providing water and sewer service will be fully covered by connection fees and service fees charged to the parcel.
