| Title 20. Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Contract Modification #1 for the Pump Repair with GoForth Williamson in the amount not to exceed $500,000. (Water Reclamation) | |
| Strategic Priority GOAL 4: Develop World Class Livable Environment & Infrastructure | |
| Description This is for contract modification #1 for pump repair to GoForth Williamson in the amount not to exceed $500,000. The Water Reclamation Department utilizes this contract for maintenance and emergency repair services for all pumping systems associated with the Water Reclamation plants. This increase is due to operational challenges at the President Street plant along with the other facilities. Pump failures have become increasingly frequent due to accelerated wear caused by elevated levels of grit entering the system. These conditions, combined with aging equipment and rising costs of specialized repair parts have led to a need for more comprehensive repairs. Specifications require the use of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts to maintain equipment warranties and ensure proper performance. OEM components typically carry a higher cost compared to aftermarket alternatives, but they are essential for reliability and compliance. Additionally, market-wide increases in commodity prices particularly in metals have significantly impacted manufacturing costs, with average price increases ranging from 20% to 30%. This contract term expires on June 11, 2026. The original contract was approved on June 12, 2025, in the amount of $100,575. Based on the rising costs of specialized parts and equipment and system wide repair needs, this contract modification is to increase this contract to an amount not to exceed $600,575. The total amount of this annual contract including the modification is $600,575. Delivery: As needed. Terms: Net 30 days. The bidders were: L.B. GoForth Williamson, Inc (Griffin, GA) (D)$500,000 A pre-proposal conference was not conducted. (D) indicates non-local, non-DBE-owned business. | |
