Description
This is for Contract Modification No. 2 for the close-out of the contract for the Fire Support Center-Code Compliance Office with Johnson-Laux, in the amount of $166,000.
The modification is to install asphalt paving on the current gravel parking lots and to install an automated entry gate. These items were previously valued engineered from the project due to possible budget constraints. The primary scope of work and prior modifications were under budget.
The original contract was for the build-out of an existing 15,000 square feet unfinished metal building at 6 Interchange Drive for the Code Compliance Department and a supply storage facility for the Savannah Fire Department. The build-out provides offices and meeting rooms, customer service areas, locker rooms/showers, breakrooms, various storage areas, and auxiliary space. The project also includes paved and gravel driveways and walkways, paved ADA parking, a second gravel parking lot, and landscaping.
The prior contract amendment will cover the following items:
• Additional pavements are required for site permit approval.
• Additional driveway and a paved mulch storage pad for Recreation & Leisure Services.
• Removal and replacement of unsuitable soil.
• Underground conduits and other electrical provisions for future solar panels.
• Sanitary sewer line size increase to accommodate future facilities on the site.
• Clearing of a portion of the existing stormwater pond bank and adjacent foliage.
• Stabilization of an open field raised with fill to accommodate future lawn maintenance.
• Necessary erosion control measures for areas outside the original scope of work.
• Upgrade of the existing backflow device for the domestic water line.
• Protection of turf along the perimeters of the parking lot tree islands.
• Awning and doorbell for the building entrance to the Fire Support Center.
• Floor-mounted air compressor with electrical provisions, hose reel, and through-wall access.
• Reconfiguration of a portion of the interior space to meet previously applied standards.
• Digital access control for the interior door from the customer lobby to the staff space.
