Description
Recommend approval of Construction Contract Modification No. 1 for construction services for the Bacon Park reuse water main and pumping station with BRW Construction Group, LLC in the reduced amount of $150,978.50.
The original contract was for construction services which are used by the Public Works and Water Resources Engineering Department to install approximately 29,000 linear feet of new 16 inch diameter reuse water main from the President Street Water Reclamation Facility to the Bacon Park Golf Course. This contract shall also include improvements to the reuse water pumping facilities at the President Street facility.
This modification is needed due to a reduction of the City’s expense for soil and erosion control at the Bacon Park Pumping Station. During the remediation process of the soil, it was discovered that the amount of soil needed to backfill was less than anticipated. Therefore, the City was able to save on the cost of soil condition testing and erosion control requirements.
This contract was originally approved by Council on March 1, 2018 in the amount of $6,589,000. The total amount of this contract to date, including this modification, is $6,438,021.50.
