Description This is for contract modification no. 1 for one-ton chlorine cylinders with JCI Jones Chemical, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $276,000. The Industrial and Domestic Water Department will use the one-ton chlorine cylinders to disinfect drinking water and wastewater effluent. Since 1947, chlorine has been used for the disinfection of safe drinking water by reducing microbial contamination. The modification is required due to increased demand and price increases. The I&D Plant sold 13.80 billion gallons of water in 2021 and increased to 14.30 billion gallons in 2022. Failure to disinfect the water will result in potential disease risk to the exposed population, contamination for irrigation purposes, streams, and consumption from the tap. The vendor has requested a price increase due to the increased cost of raw materials. Delivery: As needed. Terms: Net 30 days.
The vendor is: L.B. JCI Jones Chemical Inc. (Jacksonville, FL) (D) $276,000 (D) Indicates non-local, non-DBE business | |
