Strategic Priority
N/A
Description

This is to procure an annual contract with Action Overhead Door in the amount of $260,000. This will support the phased replacement of aging and non-compliant overhead doors at Fire Department facilities to ensure operational readiness, safety, and compliance with current industry standards.

Budget Account: 101.5101.51244.

Recommend approval of $60,000 for quarterly inspections and preventative maintenance of overhead doors for all the City’s Savannah Fire Department locations. The contract will also include provisions for routine and emergency repairs. Savannah Fire currently operates 15 facilities with a total of 58 overhead doors. The Savannah Fire Department operates 61 overhead doors across 16 fire stations, of which about 40 have reached or exceeded their expected service life and are slated for replacement in the upcoming year(s) to meet safety requirements and current industry standards. Currently, Fire Station 2 overhead door is out of service due to age, with replacement parts no longer available, creating a safety hazard and an operational issue, highlighting the urgent need to begin addressing aging doors.

Budget Account: 101.6121.51244.PB0933
In collaboration with Facilities Maintenance, the department is initiating a phased replacement plan to address the most critical doors first.
