Description Recommend approval to renew an annual contract for medical fitness examinations, testing and evaluations for Savannah Fire Department (SFD) with St. Joseph’s/Candler (Savannah, GA)(B)(*) for up to $171,000. The SFD uses the contract to provide physical and fitness examinations as appropriate and according to the Fire Service Wellness-Fitness program, the NFPA 1582 Standard on Medical Requirements for Firefighters and OSHA Regulation 29CFR1910.120 Paragraph F Hazardous Material Team Medical Surveillance. In 2020, 306 exams were completed, the unit cost for medical evaluations is $94.30. Along with medical evaluations, this contract provides other tests such as: return-to-duty assessments, EKGs, cardiovascular stress tests, hepatitis A tests, hepatitis B tests, and more. This contract was originally bid and approved by Council on May 25, 2017. This is the final renew of four renewal options available. (B) indicates local, non-DBE owned business.
