Recommend approval of Contract Modification No. 1 for the maintenance and upgrade of Turblex blowers at President Street with Howden Roots, LLC in the amount of $61,428. The original contract is being used by the Water Reclamation Department for maintenance and upgrades to existing Turblex blowers. The blowers are an integral part of the water treatment process. This was a sole source procurement because the additional parts were to be used with existing equipment that was only available from this supplier. This modification is needed for the replacement of sealing rings on the blowers. When the blowers were disassembled for the upgrade, it was discovered that several sealing rings had failed and needed to be replaced. The sealing rings are critical to the operation of this equipment. This contract was originally approved by Council on September 26, 2019 in the amount of $101,779. The total amount of this contract to date, including this modification, is $163,207.
