This final closeout modification is for the Grant Center Gymnasium with Dabbs-Williams General Contractors, LLC in the amount of $76,300. The Grant Center Gymnasium project, located at the intersection of West Drive and Barnes Street, is now substantially complete. The project involved the construction of a new 10,380 square foot gymnasium building, which includes a full-size basketball court. The new gymnasium replaces the existing Grant Center Gymnasium and serves as the only City-owned regulation-size gymnasium on the west side of Savannah. The project also encompassed the renovation of existing storage rooms in the Moses Jackson facility to create a fitness room and workout room, as well as the replacement of windows with energy-efficient alternatives. The Grant Center Gymnasium is connected to the Moses Jackson building by sidewalks and a covered walkway. The final closeout modification  is required to account for additional costs associated with various factors, including credits, unforeseen conditions, constructability items, plan clarifications, and owner-requested changes. Specific items addressed in this amendment include the addition of two American with Disability Act (ADA) ramps along the sidewalk, equipment for the concession area, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring, two french drains and catch basins for roof runoff diversion, and an additional roof access ladder.

The original contract with Dabbs-Williams General Contractors, LLC was approved by Council on August 26, 2021, in the amount of $3,840,000. The total amount of this contract including this modification is $3,916,300.
