Description

This contract is for the procurement of one (1) mini excavator with mulching head attachment from Yancey Bros in the amount of $194,627. The mini excavator with mulching head attachment will be utilized by the Stormwater Department to clear and rejuvenate overgrown ditches across the City, effectively restoring many to a functional and manageable condition. In FY24, Stormwater is strategically downgrading seven of its F750 trucks to F550's to achieve significant cost savings in order to direct funds towards procuring the mini excavator with mulching head attachment as an essential addition to its fleet.

Since late September 2023, Stormwater has been consistently renting a Caterpillar mini excavator. This ongoing rental experience has highlighted the need for equipment of this size in its operation. The excavator, along with the mulching head attachment, has played a pivotal role in clearing and rejuvenating overgrown ditches across the City, effectively restoring many to a functional and manageable condition.
