This contract is for the procurement of one (1) rear loader refuse truck from New Way c/o Solid Waste Applied Technologies in the amount of $139,000. The rear loader refuse truck will be used by the Park & Tree Department. This vehicle will be replacing unit 8701 which is a planned FY24 replacement for the current F650 2008 model dump truck, which Park & Tree currently utilizes for trash collection from over 400 receptacles in the downtown area. Transitioning to a rear loader refuse truck offers an opportunity for increased efficiency. Its capability to load more and compact trash makes it a more effective solution compared to the current practice of directly loading trash into a dump truck and making multiple trips to the landfill.

Per section 2-4154 of the City’s Purchasing Ordinance, the City may purchase goods or services through the use of a cooperative purchasing agreement. This will be procured using Sourcewell contract New Way c/o Solid Waste Applied Technologies contract # 110223-NWY, which expires 12/28/2027. Delivery: As requested. Terms: Net 30 days.
