Description This is for the approval of an annual contract with Union Mission, Inc., for the provision of extended intake hours for emergency shelter for people experiencing homelessness in an amount not to exceed $97,678.
On March 13, 2025, the City of Savannah announced the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Extended Intake Hours for Emergency Shelter for people experiencing homelessness. The RFP was advertised in the Savannah Morning News, the Savannah Tribune, the City’s website, and shared with the Interagency Council on Homelessness / Continuum of Care (ICH/CoC) network. The City received proposals and the following proposal is recommended for funding: Parker’s & Grace House Extended Intake Hours, submitted by Union Mission, Inc., for an amount of $97,678. The purpose of the extended intake hours for emergency shelters is to increase the utilization of available shelter beds for individuals who wish to receive shelter after normal business hours and on weekends. The proposed Parker’s & Grace House Extended Hours will work directly with the City of Savannah’s Street Outreach & Transportation Services vendor to provide extended hours for emergency shelter intake processing, through 9 pm Monday-Saturday. This is in direct support of the City’s Strategic Plan and the ICH/CoC’s five-year plan to end homelessness. Without the extended intake hours, individuals and families wishing to enter emergency shelter after regular business hours or on weekends would not have access. (B) Indicates Local-owned, non-DBE-business.
