This is to Execute Contract Modification No. 1 for One Ton Chlorine Cylinders with JCI Chemicals in the amount of $80,000.

The wastewater treatment facility continues to utilize chlorine gas as a critical component of the disinfection process to ensure treated wastewater meets all state and federal environmental permit requirements prior to discharge. Chlorine gas remains one of the most effective and reliable disinfectants for eliminating harmful pathogens and protecting public health and the surrounding waterways. Maintaining a consistent supply of chlorine gas is essential to sustaining uninterrupted wastewater operations and regulatory compliance.

The current supplier JCI Chemicals has implemented a price increase of approximately $11 per ton as a result of ongoing global conflicts and related market impacts. These include Westlake Corporation implementing a fuel surcharge for all road and rail shipments of product. 

The total amount of this contract, including this modification, is $369,180.90.
