Strategic Priority
GOAL 4:  Develop World Class Livable Environment & Infrastructure
Description

Authorize the City Manager to Execute an Annual Contract for Water Treatment Services and Related Equipment Maintenance with Evoqua Water Technologies in an amount not to exceed $150,375.

This contract provides for the purchase of a chemical treatment product called Bioxide which is used in the City's wastewater system to reduce hydrogen sulfide levels. Bioxide is also critical to control nuisance odors at various locations in the City sanitary sewer service area and at the sewer lift stations. The utilization of Bioxide also minimizes corrosion of wastewater infrastructure and supports regulatory compliance and efficient system operations. As development increases within the City of Savannah, larger amounts of sewage will be generated and pumped and transported through the gravity sewer collection system. Larger quantities of sewage means more hydrogen sulfide odor issues to be controlled.

Delivery: As needed. Terms: Net 30 days. The vendor is: S.S. Evoqua Water Technologies (Sarasota, FL) (D) $150,375.

This is a sole source because the vendor is the only known supplier of this Bioxide product and is the only vendor that can perform maintenance for the system. A pre-bid meeting was not conducted, as this is a sole source. (D) Indicates a non-local, non-DBE business.
