Description
Recommend approval to procure a gas chromatograph from Fisher Scientific in the amount of $136,980.74. The gas chromatograph will be used by the Public Works and Water Resources Department to analyze the drinking water for organic compounds. These tests are to insure the drinking water continues to meet all State and Federal requirements.
The State of Georgia contract will be used to procure this item to meet City ordinance requirements. The State of Georgia contract is considered a convenience contract that is available for use by all State, City, and County public entities. The purpose of this contract is to provide for the following categories: Biological Supplies, Chemicals, Consumables, Diagnostics, Lab Glassware, Lab Instruments, Lab Equipment, Lab Furniture, Safety Equipment & Clothing, Science & Education, Culture Media, Microscopes. The State of Georgia used a competitive bidding procedure to select Fisher Scientific to serve as the sole provider of these services for this region.
