Title 26. Motion to Award Annual Contract for Water Tank Inspections and Washout Services to In Depth, Inc. (Event No. 6690)
Strategic Priority Infrastructure
Description Recommend approval to award an annual contract for water tank inspections and washouts from In Depth, Inc. in the amount of $160,900.00. This amount represents the cost to washout, disinfect, and remove any sediment that has settled in the tanks. This bid identifies 30 tanks that will serviced, by a work plan, over the course of three years. The inspections will be used by the Water Supply and Treatment Department to provide storage, redundancy, and pressure to the water systems operated by the City of Savannah. The tanks are required to be inspected on a five year rotating cycle. The original cost estimate was $88,500, below the threshold that would require DBE participation. As such, the sole bidder is a minority-owned business, recognized by the State of Florida's Office of Supplier Diversity. This highly specialized work requires contractors to perform work on elevated, ground storage, and hydropneumatic tanks. The SBE goal was waived by the Office of Business Opprotunity, because 3 certified program participants could not be identified. The contract term shall be from January 17, 2019 through December 31, 2019, with a City option for two renewals.
