Description
The Airport has been utilizing the services of the Managing Director of Ailevon since mid-2012 to enhance the Airport’s efforts to attract new air service and/or new routes and increase our existing air service. The initial Professional Services Agreement term commenced on January 7, 2015 and continued on December 31, 2015. Upon completion of the initial term, the Agreement may be renewed for successive one-year terms unless a thirty (30) days prior, written notice of intent not to renew is given by either party. The renewal contract for Professional Services with APAC will be effective January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023. The total amount of compensation which includes an increase for the first time since 2016, will be inclusive of conference fees, travel-related expenses, other related incidentals and special analysis studies, and will be invoiced in 12 monthly installments on the first day of each month. Ailevon has done an excellent job preparing presentations for air carrier meetings and assisting SAC in discussions with airline representatives. In 2015, SAV had 6 airlines and 17 nonstop destinations; by the end of 2022, we have 11 airlines and 31 nonstop destinations. Available seats have increased 81% and annual enplanements have increased by 73%.
The Managing Director of Ailevon is well versed in both the Savannah and Hilton Head Island markets and spends considerable time keeping up with airline changes that could affect service to SAV. He was instrumental in helping to secure service from Southwest Airlines and our newest carriers Breeze and Avelo. Staff will continue working with him to grow service at SAV with a focus on reinstating service to Canada, increasing efforts to bring in international charter flights. Other focus areas include pursuing service to Los Angeles the Caribbean, and transatlantic route development, increasing Florida service, seeing additional flights to destinations already served, and continuing to build on up-guaging of aircraft with all carriers serving SAV.
