Description

This agreement is for the City's portion (63.27%) to relocate Ogeechee Road water and sewer mains. The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is planning to widen Ogeechee Road from I-516 to Victory Drive and to update the intersections and traffic signals for better roadway safety. Approximately 10,750 feet of water mains and 6,600 feet of sewer mains will require relocation to accommodate this work. While this work is required by GDOT for the roadway project, these utilities were built between 1960 and 2005, thus many are due for replacement.

This agreement requires the City of Savannah to pay 63.27% of the water and sewer construction cost and GDOT to pay for 36.73%. The current estimated cost is $4,711,034, thus $2,980,671.21 would be paid by the City and $1,730,362.79 would be paid by GDOT. Total payment will be based on final water & sewer construction costs. This is a standard GDOT agreement that has been reviewed by the City Attorney’s Office. GDOT requires the Mayor to execute an agreement. Also, GDOT will be reimbursing the City a total of $87,811.15 for the engineering portion that was solicited and approved by City Council on July 20, 2017. Delivery as requested. Terms: Net 30 days.
