Title 20. Authorize the City Manager to Execute the First Renewal of an Annual Contract for Late Night Alternative Transportation with Downtowner in the Amount of $588,000 (Event No. 5816)
Strategic Priority Economic Strength And Poverty Reduction
Description Recommend approval to renew an annual contract for late night alternative transportation services with Downtowner in the amount of $588,000. The Parking Services Department uses these services to provide on-demand transportation for populations within a defined geographic area or time. Downtowner provides services between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. within the greater downtown area using two electric vehicles provided by the company. These transport services are geared mainly to workers who park and live outside of the central business district and want safe, reliable transportation to and from their homes. The method used for this procurement was the request for proposal, which evaluates criteria in addition to cost. Proposals were evaluated on the basis of qualifications and experience, technical capabilities, references, DBE participation, local vendor participation, and fees. This event had an open DBE goal with a maximum award of ten points. The recommended proposer submitted DBE participation at the subcontractor level in the amount of 8% using HAGILE, LLC. This contract was originally approved by Council on November 18, 2018. The contract term expires on December 31, 2020. This is the first of four renewals options available.
