Title 22. Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Renewal of an Annual License and Maintenance Agreement for ShotSpotter Gunfire Location Services with ShotSpotter, Inc. in the amount of $148,837.50 (Event No. 5991)
Strategic Priority Public Safety
Description Recommend approval to renew an annual contract with ShotSpotter, Inc. in the amount of $148,837.50. ShotSpotter is a gunfire detection system used by the Savannah Police Department to aid in crime reduction. ShotSpotter provides accurate and real-time information regarding gunfire within the coverage area. The system can identify, record, and locate gunshots and explosive events. Gunfire information is then pushed to communications and notifies law enforcement with critical awareness. ShotSpotter improves the Savannah Police Department’s response and evidence collection outcomes while also providing an independent measurable process to calculate gunfire. The system also includes forensic analysis which can be leveraged during investigations and prosecutions. The renewal contract amount from 2019 was $141,750. The vendor has requested a 5% increase on this amount. This is a sole source because ShotSpotter, Inc. is the only vendor that provides this patent-protected technology. The contract term expires February 14, 2021.
