Recommend approval of Contract Modification No.1 for the construction of the facilities at Interchange Court with TQ Constructors in the amount of $876,913.

The original contract was for the construction of new facilities to move City staff from the existing City Lot and included the development of 37 acres, as well as the construction of nine new buildings and the complete renovation of one existing warehouse.

This contract modification is needed for the removal of the unsuitable soils, the importation of new suitable structural fill dirt, the modification of the finished floor elevation in the existing warehouse, and the added general conditions due to the extension of the contract time.

This project had a 20% DBE goal, with half (10%) being performed by a local DBE. The awarded contractor submitted participation in the amount of 31% at the subcontractor level using two local DBE-certifed subcontractors, SABE, Inc. and SCD, Inc.

This contract was originally approved by Council on July 2, 2019 in the amount of $37,605,246.88. The contract amount was confirmed by Council on August 1, 2019 in the amount of $37,855,246.88. The total amount of this contract to date, including this modification is $38,732,159.88.
