Description This is a notification of an emergency purchase to remove multiple ballfield lights with Trinity Electrical Services, Inc. in the amount of $76,820. The services will be used to provide an appropriate and safe level of service for the Recreation & Leisure Services Department’s Youth Baseball Programs. Upon inspection of the 30 existing athletic field light poles, staff have identified several light poles showing rot at the bottom and have been damaged and hollowed out by birds at the top. The existing light poles were installed over 20 years ago and the metal swingarms for the lights are also corroded and in need of replacement. Staff is reviewing proposals for the replacement of the removed ballfield lights.
Athletic Services has stopped all activity on the four athletic fields for precautionary reasons. Removal is needed to render the site safe for use during daylight hours. With spring approaching, the potential loss of use of the four fields will severely hinder the City’s ability to host youth and adult games, leagues, and tournaments. Terms: Net 30 days. Delivery: Immediately.
