Description

This is for the approval of Contract Modification No. 1 for Heavy Equipment Rental with Savannah River Utilities in the amount of $419,295. This modification is to increase the maximum dollar amount of the annual contract for Heavy Equipment Rental with Savannah River Utilities from $912,830 to $1,332,125. To stay EPD compliant, heavy equipment must be readily available on-site at the Dean Forest Landfill. If not, the landfill may be subject to fines issued by the State and Environmental Protection Division (EPD). The requested increase will allow Sanitation to continue, on an as-needed basis, to temporarily rent heavy equipment with and without operators to support central operations that are critical to the Dean Forest Road Landfill permitting compliance. Heavy equipment rental is necessary when machinery and equipment are down for service and/or repair. This contract is utilized by multiple departments city-wide.

 

This contract was originally approved by Council on July 14, 2022, in the amount of $912,830.  The total amount of this contract to date, including this modification, is $1,332,125.
