Recommend approval to award a contract for construction of a parking lot and pad at the Edwin Street Metroplex to F.H. Paschen Construction Company in the amount of $289,908.

The contract is for construction of a new previously-designed asphalt parking lot creating an additional 52 spaces for parking on the Southside of Edwin St. Metroplex, and installation of a concrete pad at the Forensics Building to park and store vehicles being examined by Forensics.

The State of Georgia’s job-order contractor will be used to perform this project to meet time constraints and City ordinance requirements. The State of Georgia’s job-order contract is available for use by all State, City and County public entities. The purpose of this contract is to provide multi-traded general construction services to accomplish small to medium-sized projects for repair, alteration, modernization, rehabilitation, renovation and minor new construction to infrastructure, buildings, structures or other real property. The State of Georgia used a competitive bidding procedure to select F. H. Paschen to serve as the sole provider of these services for this project.
