Recommend approval to award a contract for source water protection plan services to the Center for Watershed Protection in the amount of $107,479.00.

In 2003, the City of Savannah completed a source water assessment and protection plan (SWAP) for Abercorn Creek, the City's surface water intake source. The Georgia Environmental Protection Division requires utilities to develop SWAPs to identify potential pollution sources and evaluate risks to drinking water supplies. The Abercorn Creek Watershed has experienced significant land use change since 2003 due to growth in Rincon, Springfield, and Effingham Counties. This has resulted in the need for the City’s SWAP to be updated. In addition, an update to the plan will ensure new state and federal requirements are being met.

Approval
