Title 28. Motion to Procure Lighted Bollards for Sylvan Terrace from Johnson-Laux Construction, LLC (Event No. 6770)
Strategic Priority Infrastructure
Description Recommend approval to procure bollards from Johnson-Laux Construction, LLC in the amount of $99,997.63. The SPLOST-funded lighted bollards will be used to remove the three existing planters along Montgomery Street near Staley Avenue and replace the planters with lighted bollards. The bollards will be installed in the same location as the current planters and 28 bollards, spaced every six feet, to span the distance of the current planters. The State of Georgia’s job order contractor will be used to perform this project to meet time constraints and City ordinance requirements. The State of Georgia’s job order contract is considered a convenience contract that is available for use by all State, City, and County public entities. The purpose of this contract is to provide multi-traded general construction services to accomplish small- to medium-sized projects for repair, alteration, modernization, rehabilitation, and minor new construction to infrastructure, buildings, structures, or other real property. The State of Georgia used a competitive bidding procedure to select Johnson-Laux Construction to serve as the sole provider of these services for this region. An 18% DBE goal was established for this project. The recommended vendor submitted DBE participation in the amount of 18% using MAK Construction, Inc.
