Title 16. Motion to Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Sole Source Contract with ShotSpotter, Inc. for a Predictive Policing Program and a Flex Amendment Expanding the Existing ShotSpotter Coverage in the Estimated Amount of $63,750 (Event No. 6892)
Strategic Priority Public Safety
Description ShotSpotter Missions solution is a crime forecasting and patrol/task force management system designed for more precise and effective policing. ShotSpotter Missions uses artificial intelligence-driven analysis to help strategically plan patrol missions and tactics for maximum crime deterrence—effectively extending the capabilities of ShotSpotter Flex to deter gun crime before it occurs. The system incorporates data such as crime events, temporal cycles, and geographic locations to produce high probability crime forecasts. These forecasts or predictions are then turned into a patrol plan (“mission”) and disseminated to officers in the field. Also included as part of this agenda item is a one mile expansion of the existing ShotSpotter coverage area at no cost for the first year. No DBE goal was established for this event as this is a sole source procurement.
