Title 15. Motion to Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Contract with Hussey, Gay, and Bell, Inc. for Consultant Services for a Bilbo Canal Hydraulic Study in the Amount of $67,500 (Event No. 7541)
Strategic Priority Infrastructure
Description Recommend approval to procure consultant services for Bilbo Basin-Model Calibration and Hydraulic Study from Hussey, Gay, and Bell, Inc. in the amount of $67,500. Consultant service is needed to update the City’s Bilbo basin hydraulic model. This information will be used to calibrate the existing model following Hurricane Matthew (storm of record) rainfall data, update ground elevation data and incorporate 2D modeling, update the existing model with significant improvements within the basin, update drainage basin boundaries, determine current flooded intersections and flooded structures, and determine required future improvements and associated conceptual costs to implement. Hussey, Gay, and Bell, Inc. exclusively performed the modeling in the basin in the past, possesses the computer program and data necessary to do the work, and is available to perform the work. This is a sole because the existing computer, which is a generated proprietary software model, will be updated and is only available from this vendor.
