Description Recommend approval for the purchase of a new generator for Lift Station 205 from Cummins Power South in the amount of $29,233. The existing emergency backup power generator at this location suffered significant damage due to a lightning strike and is beyond repair. The generator needs to be replaced in case of a power outage. The generator will allow the lift station to continue to convey sewage to the treatment plant, preventing sanitary sewer overflows or environmental and public heath issues. The plant's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit requires each plant to have a back-up power source in the event of an emergency. This purchase is critical and will ensure continuity of operatiions for Lift Staton 205. This purchase will be made using the Sourcewell Cooperative Contract No.120617-CMM. The contract expires January 29, 2023. The City of Savannah's purchasing ordinance Section 2-4152 authorizes the use of cooperative purchasing agreements. Recommend approval Delivery As needed.
