Description

Notification of an emergency purchase for Roll Off and Vactor Services with Badger in the amount of $297,244.  On June 23, 2024, the President Street Facility experienced a collapse in the main 60-inch line. The plant was initially inundated with sand, and this situation worsened due to heavy rainfall and additional sand influx from Tropical Storm Debby. As the plant continued to process sand and high flow rates, problems began to emerge with the downstream equipment.

Specifically, the grit system, primary clarifiers, and gravity thickeners all failed. To address these issues, the operations staff started cleaning the gravity thickeners. This cleaning was crucial for resuming the waste and removal of solids. It is important to note that all processes in the plant are interconnected; therefore, space must be available in the downstream processes to allow for effective cleaning upstream. Badger was selected due to their ability to provide the necessary specialized equipment for sewer excavation during an emergency event. They are equipped to pull sludge and sand from heights that standard sewer jetter trucks are not designed for. Delivery: As Needed. Terms: Net 30 Days.
