Description

This is for Contract Modification No. 2 for lift station parts and pumps from Xylem, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $300,000. The City of Savannah Lift Stations Flygt Pumps and Parts contract includes pumping, piping, mechanical, electrical odor control, and failsafe systems, which are a critical asset for the City Sewer Conveyance System. These systems run continuously and are maintained to prevent station failure which will cause sewage spillage in the City.  The Lift Stations pump the sewage from the City of Savannah to the respective Water Reclamation Plants.  The increase is needed due to insufficient funds caused by recent Lift Station 64 at Bee Road, Lift Station 65 at Bacon Park, and Lift Station 23 at West Boundary Street pump repairs and replacements, along with the normal pump wear and tear.  Also, along with cost increases due to inflation, all new pumps were replaced with new impellers.   There is remaining work required for repairs at the City's Lift Stations.  This funding will be able to cover this work and other remaining work as needed.  This sole source contract was modified on March 10, 2022, in an increased amount of $600,000. The resulting total contract is $1,400,000.00. The total amount with the proposed December 19, 2024 requested modification will be $1,700,000.The agreement will renew in May 2025. This is a sole source contract because Xylem, Inc. is the only vendor to provide the Flygt Pumps and Parts for the City's Lift Stations.
