This contract is to procure rebuilding of one primary clarifier rebuild from Brentwood Industries in the amount not to exceed $800,000. 
 
The Water Reclamation Department on President Street request to re-build one of the three primary clarifiers. Primary clarifiers play a critical role as the first stage in the wastewater treatment process. These tanks are designed to remove heavy solids and materials from influent wastewater, significantly reducing the burden on downstream processes. Their effective operation is essential for maintaining the efficiency of the entire treatment system and ensuring compliance with environmental discharge regulations. 
 
Each clarifier is equipped with a variety of mechanical components, including rakes, chains, wear strips, sprockets, bushings, and gearboxes. Over time, these components wear down due to continuous operation in a highly corrosive environment. 
 
The proposed overhaul will address one of the three clarifiers at the President Street facility. The project includes the replacement of all major mechanical components, the installation of a new sprocket monitoring system, upgrades to gearboxes, chains, wear shoes, and associated hardware. In addition, the overhaul will include repairs to known structural deficiencies within the tank, which will be completed by a separate vendor. 
 
Brentwood is the only manufacturer of the replacement and repair components that are designed to fit the existing clarifier system without requiring modifications to the tanks. Sourcing components from another vendor would result in increased costs and project delays due to the need for structural changes. 
 
It is important to note that a purchase was made in February 2025 for similar components; however, that procurement was focused on restoring basic functionality using a mix of available parts and additional items that had to be specially ordered. In contrast, this new request represents a full and comprehensive overhaul intended to restore the clarifier to optimal operational condition. 
 
This is a sole source because Brentwood is the original manufacturer of the existing clarifiers and would be most cost effective.  Terms: Net 30 days. Delivery: As requested.​
