This contract is for repairs to the expansion joints in the concrete floors of the first two levels of the State Street parking garage that have failed due to age and environmental condition exposure. These failures result in leaks to the spaces below, including the office of the Savannah Metropolitan Planning Commission. 

When MPC employees reported the leaks, an engineering study was conducted to identify the source of the water, and corrective actions were recommended. Removal of the old, failed material and replacement with new products will prevent heavy rain events from further deteriorating the garage structure and damaging conditioned spaces below in the MPC office.

Per Section 2-4154 of the City’s Purchasing Ordinance, the City may purchase goods or services through the use of a state contract. The contract used for this procurement is a State of Georgia contract for Indefinite Quantity Construction (Contract #99999-SPD-S20260602-0026). It was competitively bid by the State of Georgia nd expires on June 2, 2027.

Recommend approval to authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Rowe Construction through a statewide contract for the repair of leaks at the State Street Garage in the amount of $98,550.
