Description

This contract is for the procurement of Truman Trail 2B lighting from Georgia Powerin the amount of $357,527. This expenditure is the upfront lighting cost for Georgia Power to install 90 LED lights for the Truman Linear Trail 2B. The Truman Trail Phase 2B project is part of the Tide to Town system and begins at 52nd Street at Bee Road and ends at DeRenne Avenue near Jenkins High School. Once Truman Trail Phase 2B is complete, it will link the Lake Mayer Park Trail to the Police Memorial Trail, creating approximately seven miles of a continuous off-road, multi-purpose trail that will attract a diverse group of pedestrians and bicyclists for recreation and commuter use. The trail will be a 10-foot wide shared-use concrete path with a timber bridge ditch crossing and includes an 8-foot-wide protected shared use path across the 52nd Street bridge over Truman Parkway.

This is a sole-source procurement based on Georgia Power’s unique position to provide the City light fixtures, power, and associated equipment as owner of all these. The proposed lease agreement, which also sets forth a monthly cost for power maintenance, will be $2,016 per month. Georgia Power will be responsible for providing and installing all components of the lighting system and will be fully responsible for the operation, service, maintenance, and any necessary repairs to the trail lights throughout the duration of the agreement. Delivery: As needed. Terms: Net 30 days.
